I support Habitat for Humanity because they 'teach a man to fish' - rather than a handout, families are given a hand up. In order to receive a Habitat Home, families are required to provide 500 hours of sweat equity and the 'mortgage' payments after taking possession of their home are put toward another home for a deserving family. (Don't you LOVE the pay it forward?!)
On August 20th I am lending my sweat equity to a 32-unit complex, Habitat's largest project yet, that will house over 60 children. If this cause resonates with you, sponsor me and I will do all of the heavy lifting with my fellow team members!
Habitat builds gives our community the chance to come together to address the need of affordable home ownership in Calgary.
I appreciate all the support I can get! Together, you and I can make dreams come true.
